Trinity
This painting symbolizes the deep, cosmic connection between the sacred Kinnera instrument and the divine Trimurti—Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva (Mahesh). In a creative reimagining, the three gods are portrayed as three gourds, each representing one of the cosmic functions: creation, preservation, and destruction.

Description
For the tribes, the Kinnera is more than just a musical instrument; it’s a spiritual tool through which they worship and offer prayers to the divine. It serves as both a way to connect with the almighty and a means of relaxation after a long day. The tribes sing ballads on various subjects—ranging from life and local heroes to their daily experiences, including farming, marriage, social gatherings, and ceremonies.
Playing the Kinnera is rooted in the belief that it sustains their livelihood, making it an auspicious and vital instrument. For this reason, they personify the three gourds as Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. The bird depicted at the tail end of the instrument is an Eagle, the vehicle (vahan) of Lord Vishnu.
In this painting, the essence of these beliefs is captured. Brahma, the Creator, is represented by the first gourd, symbolizing the origin of all things. Vishnu, the Preserver, is embodied in the second, holding the universe in harmonious balance. Finally, Shiva, the Destroyer and Transformer, is symbolized in the third gourd, representing the necessary end that allows for new creation to emerge.
